2023 BET award: Burna Boy, Asake, Tems, Ayra Starr, earn nominations

Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, and Asake have been announced as the four Nigerian artists nominated for the 2023 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

Burna Boy, who has already secured a Grammy win, received nominations in the categories of Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Video Director of the Year, Viewer’s Choice, and Best International Act.

Tems, another Grammy winner, earned nominations for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best Collaboration, and Viewers Choice.

Asake and Ayra Starr each received one nomination. Asake will compete in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category, while Ayra Starr will go head-to-head with Burna Boy in the Best International Act category.
