MKO Abiola Stadium: Sports Ministry Signs Maintenance Agreement With Dangote

As part of the agreement reached with Alhaji Aliko Dangote on the renovation of the national stadium, the sports ministry has gone a step further to include the maintenance of the national stadium in the deal.

The engineer in charge of the renovation, Adedeji Adesoji of Aron Nigeria Limited, said the company has been saddled with the task of maintaining the facility for the next two years.

In his words, Adedeji said ‘there is a part two to this contract which is maintenance for the next two years, so apart from this place Dangote has sponsored a nursery at the back which means if anything happens to the grass we have a nursery of 2000 square meters where where can always replace the grass and we are on ground for two years bother for the grass and the scoreboard’
The 60,000 capacity Moshood kashimawo Abiola stadium was built in 2003 but has suffered from poor maintenance over the years,however,with the recent agreement reached with Dangote the future of the stadium is in good hand.
