Super Eagles’ goal stopper, Francis Uzoho has finally come out from his shell to lament to his disappointing display against Ghana in the second leg of the 2022 World Cup Playoffs.

The lanky goalkeeper, who didn’t concede in the first leg in Kumasi, was a shadow of himself in the return leg in Abuja. His error landed the ticket to the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Since the shambolic performance, the Cyprus-based goalie claimed he’s yet to overcome the trauma and shame he went through both on and off the pitch.

Uzoho, who took to his Instagram handle said he never wished to hurt Nigerians in the decisive duel which saw his country losing on account of away goal. He however vowed to help the team bounce back to winning ways if invited in the forthcoming games.

“This past couple of days has been the worst in my lifetime. I wanted to take my country to Qatar but rather did the opposite. I know what football means to you all and to myself.
“I can’t promise not to make mistake again.

But I can promise not to give up until I bring back that smile on your faces. Thank you for the support and God bless you,” he wrote.

With Ghana picking the ticket as one of the countries to represent Africa, the four-time African champions were drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
