Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has said that he would love to see the fans return to stadium but not until strict Covid-19 protocols is established at match venues.
The Minister on Tuesday during his visit to the Super Eagles training at the FIFA Goal Project Abuja made this known while reacting to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) plead on return of fans to stadium.
He said, “We will like to see our fans back into the stadium as soon as we establish strict Covid-19 protocols. Until then, we can start to work about how the fans return back to the stadium on that I can assure you.”
Sunday Dare who has been clamouring for inclusion of home-based players into the Super Eagles is optimistic that the three-time African champions will do the country proud in their international friendly against Mexico in the US.
“I am sure you will go there and do the country proud and in football, it may get count on the FIFA ranking but it is going count for us. It is going to count for the technical crew we would want to see how you utilise the opportunity.”
Nigeria Super Eagles will lock horns with Mexico National Team in an international friendly game on July 3rd in Los Angeles.
