SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, has addressed tweets from singer Peter Okoye regarding Seun Kuti’s assault case against a police officer.

In a viral video, Seun was seen pushing and slapping a policeman, which drew condemnation from many officers, including the Inspector General of Police who called for his arrest.

Peter Okoye, who had a previous online altercation with Seun, urged the police to show mercy in the assault case.

In response, Hundeyin clarified that it is not within the police’s jurisdiction to deliver justice, as it is the court’s responsibility. He advised Peter to redirect his appeal to the judiciary.

Hundeyin stated, “Just in case you don’t know or have forgotten, we don’t give justice. The court does!

You might want to redirect this to the judiciary.

You’re welcome.”, he said.
