My dad convinced me to join Big Brother Africa – Sharon OSharon, who was in the sixth season of the reality TV series, was asked by Crystal Newman: “Whose idea was it to go for Big Brother?”

Sharon: “It was my dad’s. Not even Ronnie [Mulindwa, her baby daddy]. Because Ronnie didn’t even know about it in the first place…”

Crystal: “But how did your dad, I mean…”

Sharon: “I know… so, for some reason, you could think, you know, he is old fashion, but, you know, he knew these things. He was like, you know, I think, you should try out Big Brother… you have a shot [at] this. I like, what?… I was like, okay, but you know I’m reserved… I’m a bit… I’m not a loud person so, you know, they want a loud character, so how am I gonna pull it off? He was like, Sharon, you need to go, you never know what this could do for you. But, yeah, here I am.”

Sharon O, who also goes by Sharon Angela Salmon Nalukenge, was born in 1998 at Mulago Hospital and grew up in Bukoto, a Kampala suburb.
