A humanitarian aid shipment bound for Libya departed from Izmir Port on Sunday as part of Turkey’s ongoing support for the response efforts to the flood crisis in the country.

According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Department, AFAD, the Sinjakship ship is carrying 850 tons of relief supplies.

The agency, which operates under the Turkish Interior Ministry, affirmed its commitment to “healing the wounds of the Libyans who were subjected to one of the largest disasters in history last September 11.”

Highlighting the Turkish support, AFAD said it had dispatched four aircraft and five ships carrying search and rescue teams, as well as humanitarian aid to relieve the flood victims in Libya.
