2023 AFCON: Kelechi Iheanacho Speeds Up Recovery Process

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is hopeful of joining the Super Eagles before the commencement of 2023 African Nations Cup in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles striker has been rated as doubtful for the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire due to an undisclosed injury he is nursing at the moment.

Meanwhile, Royal Antwerp midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf has replaced injured Wilfred Ndidi in Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is said to have withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad, citing injury ahead of the tournament.

Ndidi missed Leicester City’s 4-1 home victory against Huddersfield Town on Monday due to the injury.

Yusuf, earlier named on the 40-man provisional list will now take his place in the team.

The 23-year-old is now expected to link up with the team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday (today).

The talented midfielder is yet to be capped by the Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles, under the guidance of manager Jose Peseiro, are holding a one-week training camp in Abu Dhabi, capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
