Ahead of the all-important 2026 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, the camp of the Bafana Bafana is in a state of confusion presently.

According to the latest update from the country, the head coach of the team Hugo Broos is set to leave and seek a greener pasture elsewhere.

Broos who won the 2017 African Cup of Nations with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon took South Africa to the 3rd place in the last edition of AFCON.

Belgian Jupiler League giant Club Brugge has approached the gaffer to take charge of the technical department of the team and he was in the stand for the club’s last league match against Anderlecht.

Should Broos leave Bafana and sign for Brugge, it is said that he will do so as a technical director. This would be part of a proposed new structure at the club under CEO Bob Madou. This structure is set to help current head coach Ronny Deila.
