Al-Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns Pick AFL Semifinal Tickets

The first semi-finalists for the maiden edition of the African Football League have been confirmed.

Al-Ahly of Egypt qualified for the semi-final of the African Football League following their 1-1 home draw against Simba of Tanzania.

The Egyptian giants progressed into the last four on a superior away goal rule having drawn the first leg 2-2 in Tanzania last weekend.

They were joined in the semi-final by Mamelodi Sundown of South Africa who edged out Petro Luanda of Angola 2-0 on aggregate.

The second leg match held in South Africa on Tuesday ended goalless and the South Africans had secured a 0-2 away victory in the first leg last weekend.

To determine other two semifinalists, Esperance of Tunisia will face TP Mazembe of DR Congo while Wydad Casablanca of Morocco will take on Enyimba International of Nigeria in the other quarter finals second leg on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
