“Beat Club Africain, Make Nigeria Proud” – Head of Mission Urges Rivers United

The Nigeria Head of Mission in Tunisia, Hakeem Oladepo Falusi has urged Rivers United to beat Club Africain and make the country proud.

Falusi stated this on Tuesday when he paid a visit to players and officials of Rivers United at their hotel ahead of the match day 4 tie with Club Africain in the CAF Confederation’s Cup.

Falusi, who was accompanied by Olu Mustapha, Head of Chancery in the Embassy of Nigeria in Tunis visited the team in Hotel Ez-Zahra Dar Tunis to familiarise and encourage the team ahead of the crunch encounter with the Tunisian opponents on Wednesday at Stade de Rades.

The Head of Mission, who urged the Pride of Rivers to make the country proud by beating Club Africain noted that they are flying the country’s flag in Tunisia.

He said: “You also have the country behind you. The flag you are flying is also a Nigeria flag now. It’s not only your state that will be proud of you, Nigeria will also be proud of your victory.

“It’s just to come and identify with you and know how you are faring to ensure that you are okay and other logistics is addressed. We don’t want to have issues like that as a major concern.”

He was welcomed by the Rivers United General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu, Secretary, Ahmed Abdulraman, Technical Manager, Stanley Eguma and NFF representative, Ali Cairo.

The General Manager welcomed his Excellency and thanked him for finding time to come visit the team as this will spur the team to do well.

Responding, the team captain, Nyima Nwagua thanked the Head of Missions for the hospitality as the players were happy to see officials of the Embassy on arrival at the airport. He promised not to let the Nation down.
