The NBBF via its social media wrote; “I am Chimezie Metu, an NBA basketball player with Phoenix Sons and also a member of male basketball team D’Tigers. In a couple of days, some preys will be coming to our territory to try to clinch the Olympics ticket from us.

“We take this as an affront and call on your court side supports to unleash D’Tigers on them. With your support and cheer, we no say dem no reach. We will be looking forward to seeing you by the court side on 14th August and all other days of the game.”

Denying the quote credited to him by the federation, Metu said “I did not say any of that.”
