Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has revealed that more foreign-born Nigeria players have indicated interest in representing the country in future engagements.

Some players like Toni and Nicole Payne, Jennifer Echeginni, Michelle Alozie, Yewande Balogun and Ifeanyi Onumonu are players born abroad and have made a significant impact with the Super Falcons.

Despite having an uncertain future with the Nigerian side, the American gaffer maintained that some of the players will be given a chance during the Olympics qualifying games.

“I’ve had some U-17 coaches reach out about players they have, a couple of really good U-20 players that are playing in the US that now want to be connected to Nigeria.

“We also have those connections in England. There are a few players there that I’m already looking at to bring to the Olympics and so forth. I think it’s a huge plus”, he said.

For the very first time, Nigeria’s Super Falcons remained unbeaten in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup.
