A Nigerian footballer in Slovenia has purportedly been sacked from his club for reportedly impregnating the daughter of the team’s president.

The unnamed player, who joined the second-division outfit just six months ago, has taken full responsibility for the pregnancy, leading to his termination due to what the club deemed gross misconduct and indiscipline.

The Nigerian players registered under the clubs are, Bede Osuji, Temitope Nelson, Gerald Chiyoke, and Sulaiman Adedoja.

However, the exact identity of the player entangled in the pregnancy scandal is currently unknown.

The affected player, now back in Nigeria, is expressing concern for his girlfriend and the unborn child. Additionally, he contemplates involving FIFA, alleging unfair treatment following his abrupt dismissal, despite having signed a three-year deal in May 2019.

He stated that: “I signed a three-year deal with the option of another year, but last month I ran into trouble when my girlfriend, who happens to be the daughter of the president, said she was pregnant for me. The club learned about it and summoned me for a meeting.”

“At the meeting, I admitted that I was responsible for the pregnancy and was instructed to stay at home, avoiding the club premises until further notice. A week later, I was called to the office and informed that my agent had been notified about the club’s intentions to terminate my contract for gross misconduct and indiscipline.”

“The news surprised me because I have not been found wanting in any area since I arrived at the club six months ago.

“Subsequently, my agent suggested filing a case with FIFA, claiming he has a recording of the president stating that my contract was terminated due to an affair with his daughter. It’s important to note that she’s an adult, we both love each other and decided to have a child”, he added.

The unfolding controversy raises questions about player rights, professional conduct, and the intersection of personal relationships within the confines of a football club.

As the player contemplates legal action, the incident highlights the complexities that can arise in the world of professional sports.
