The Interim Management Committee the body in charge of the Nigeria Premier Football League has given Shooting Stars an ultimatum to improve on the playing turf of the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Since the renovation of the stadium, the Oluyole Warriors have been playing their home game on the ground.

In their game against Nasarawa United, some parts of the pitch seem to be gradually losing the grass.

The league body said they should improve on the pitch before the end of the first stanza of the league or risk playing their home game in the second stanza at an alternative ground.

“The present condition of the playing turf at the Lekan Salami Stadium is not television-friendly and falls short of acceptable standards.

You are therefore directed to take immediate steps to improve the condition of the playing pitch before the end of the first half of the season (Week 9)”.

The club was warned that failure to comply would lead to its home games being moved to an alternate ground before the start of the second stanza”, the statement said.

Shooting Stars will host the group leaders Bendel Insurance in their next home game.
