2024 U20 WW/Cup Qualifier: Falconets Edge Tanzania To Set Up Clash With Burundi

Nigeria’s U20 Women’s team Falconets has secured its place in the final round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

The Nigerian team on Sunday at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja defeated their counterpart from Tanzania 2-1.

Janet Akekoromowri put Nigeria ahead in the 20th minute before Jamila Rajani drew the away side level in the 47th minute.

Comfort Folorunsho sealed the game for Nigeria in the 60th minute to hand the team a 2-1 win.

Falconets progressed into the final round of the qualifier 3-2 on aggregate having drawn the first leg on Dar es Salam last weekend 1-1.

Nigeria will now face Burundi in the final round of the qualifier and the winner over the two legs will qualify for the World Cup slated to be held in Colombia in 2024.
